Don't build your house out of dirt like a noob. That would be a good starting point. Endermen can't pick up most blocks, just all the different types of dirt, flowers, and one or two others. If you really want to enderman-proof a house just make every room a low ceiling. They're 3 blocks tall after all.

My house above ground is mad of triple layer wood-obsidian-wood so I don't have to worry about that but everything below surface level has dirt walls for aesthetic and my rooftop orchard is built in a pyramid shape (also for aesthetics) making endermen able to steal the dirt and open it up to my attic where they often place the dirt allowing.

In both I've had Endermen teleport into my houses and stick around until I made an effort to annoy them in some fashion. No rain and definitely no lighting problems. Yeah, he's pretty nice. I have a overhanging roof so I hid under it so he'd attack me, but he didn't, instead, he just teleported into my house and placed the grass down. And then I went inside and he teleported back outside and then back inside, I assumed he didn't want to attack so I nametagged him but I don't know what else to do

With a 65-block moat, even if an Enderman teleports in the direction of your home after hitting the moat, the likelihood of them getting inside is slim (since teleporting twice still only lets them travel 64 blocks horizontally).. Endermen hate water, so consider placing three lengths of water around your house. Make a bridge over the water.

It was raining out, and I was crating when an an enderman teleported into my house. Result, dead enderman. How can I keep that from happening, short of lowering my ceiling. I don't like 2 block high ceilings as they feel cramped. Would placing top half slabs on the ceiling fix it? That should make the ceiling 2.5 blocks high, still not cramped.
